Weekly Update #9

Posted: December 9, 2011 in Uncategorized

Hey guys, I’m back! Here today is an esteemed review I have been awaiting to make:                                                                      Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Halo CEA is a phenomenal game. It is a beautifully crafted game with more than just looks to show it.

Campaign:
The graphics update really looks great. They are absolutely top notch and really bring out the colors. The most memorable levels with the new graphics are 343 Guilty Spark, Assault on the Control Room, Halo, and The Silent Cartographer. The skulls are a nice add on. They really enhance game play, more than in any other Halo game. My favorite of the skulls is Bandanna, which grants the player(s) infinite ammo. The terminals also develop a great background story of the forerunners and the Halo Rings. I have not really got into them as much as I would have liked to, but I was with my friend (Dz x K1LLer) and he read them all. He said they were phenomenal. The most memorable part was the graphic change. Changing the graphics from 2001 to 2011 really made this game 10x better.

Forge:
This game definately has great forging potential. The forging, from what I have seen, really shines on the map Timberlands. An old remake of the map from Halo PC, and my favorite map on the game. Timberlands has the items seen on Forge World, and Tempest, plus a few new items.

Multiplayer:
The multiplayer of Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary is great. It is the same thing as Halo Reach’s multiplayer, but with better maps and overall better gameplay. They changed the damage of several weapons, the physics, and playing it just feels better. As with the campaign, the graphics make the maps look beautiful.

Firefight:
Firefight just got better. Keeping many of the same features as in Reach, the gameplay did not really change all that much. The added AI allies make the firefight more realistic and fun. The map is beautiful, and is playable in Private XBL and Public XBL.

Pros:
Great campaign, Top-notch graphics, amazing Forge capabilities, beautiful multiplayer, and an amazing in game bonus (Grunt Funeral), very reasonable price ($40 US), skulls, terminal story, and a code to download the Anniversary map pack for Halo Reach.

Cons:
Terminals are very long, and sometimes get boring. The only good map for forging is Timberlands. That’s all I can think of…

Overall Rating:
Campaign: 10/10
Multiplayer: 9/10
Forge: 8/10
Firefight: 10/10
DLC: 10/10
Overall: 9.6/10

Alright. I finally caught up. GEARS OF WAR!!

This game is intense.

The campaign is amazing. There are 5 acts, and about 6 missions per act. Each mission leads up into one another, and the story is amazing. It starts off as you, Marcus Fenix, a former soldier now jailed after the pendelum wars. I believe he was jailed for treason. Dominic Santiago busts him out of jail, because they need his help. The COG are up against the terror of the Locust Horde. It stars Delta Squad, which includes Marcus, Dom, Kim, and A. Carmine. Eventually, you meet up with two men from Alpha squad, Damon Baird, and Augustus “Cole Train” Cole, the former thrashball player for the Ravens. And now on to multiplayer. It features a lot, and i mean alot of multiplayer maps, most of which were brought back in Gears of War 2 through various DLC packages. The multiplayer is very competitive, and exteremely cooperative. You need alot of teamwork to come out of a battle alive. There are several different game modes, including Warzone (team slayer). You can play as most of the characters from the campaign, including General RAAM. This game does run pretty cheap now, and is definately worth the buy. The graphics are really nice, especially for the year the came out in. A highly, and I mean highly recommended buy. My rating is a 9.6/10. Dz x Commander, signing off.

What to post…what to post… oh I know, how about PORTAL 2

This game is the definition of hard.

This game is really, really hard. It requires alot of focus, brains, and creativity. There is Cooperative multiplayer and a Single Player campaign. The multiplayer is fun and highly addictive. It is about to test robots: P-Body and Atlas. Thay have to work together to solve nearly impossible tests. There are alot of different challenges you have to complete while you are inside of the robot GLAdos. The single player campaign is a continuation of the first Portal game. You play as the girl (unsure of name) with your companion Wheatley. You get swallowed up by GLAdos, and have to complete hard challanges, up until you need to make your escape. Thinks take a crazy twist, and the roles change around a bit… So, this game overall gets a 9.5/10. It is currently $59.99. The only edition i am sure of is regular (game and manual), but their may be another one. See you guys next week!

Today, i am going to be posting a couple of links to great, and i mean great websites

www.spartanbloks.com  – For Halo mega bloks collectors

www.bungie.net — hilarious, informative, and useful at the same time. Yep, it’s possible =D

www.firefightalpha.webs.com — my old clan, run by Dz x RiFlEzz (MasonBeale)

And to  move on and create a topic… How about Red Dead Redemption

Well, this game is phenomenal.

This is the defination of the word great. Perfect graphics, amazingly competitive multiplayer, a 57 mission long campaign, and it took me about a week to beat it. The rank up system for the multiplayer is closely related to call of duty. There are 5 “Legends” and 50 Levels per “Legend”.  There are different items and unlockables that you recieve at each level. You have to unlock weapons, mounts, and characters. The campaign was awesome. It went so in depth, and just made you feel like John Marston is your best friend! Each mission led inyo the next, which some other games cant do. I love this game, and  it sells for around $40.00. The add on campaign, Undead Nightmare, sells for around $30.00. This game deserves a 9.75/10, and deserved the 2010 Game of the Year Award.

Today, I am going to tell you guys about a great game! BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 2

Well, there is one word that can describe this game: Awesome

The most realistic game i have ever played in my life. Intense wars in two multiplayer game types, including Conquest and Rush. There is also a great gametype, reminicent to gametypes such as Firefight in Halo. It is currently 800 microsoft points on the game marketplace. They have released many VIP DLC, and you get that, and Onslaught with the  limited edition version. The campaign is highly addictive, intense, and really in depth. The graphics are good, but could be better. EA outdid themselves on this game. The price now is at about $39.99 for limited edition, and probably cheaper for the regular edition. My opinion is that this game deserves a 9.25/10
